Amahla is a unique voice in British soul. Raised in a Caribbean household in Hackney, Amahla’s music stems from her passion for literature and personal history of activism. While her ability to speak on socio political topics in both music and prose sets her apart from her peers and has seen her gather critical acclaim; even being recognised by the legendary Nile Rodgers, who supported Amahla’s nomination for the first ever Ivor Novello Rising Star award and has become her musical mentor. After selling out London’s Camden Assembly in March (her 5th sold out show to date), supported JP Cooper and was selected out of thousands of applicants to play Glastonbury 2022.
