With Special Guests Poppy Ajudha + Flo Perlin + more
Join us for an early evening of music with Poppy Ajudah, supported by Flo Perlin and other guests, to raise crucial funds for Choose Love, in aid of the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
The earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6th have caused unimaginable suffering, taking the lives of over 50,000 people, with many thousands more injured. Aid is still in desperate need, with many left without homes and living in shelters. Choose Love are providing integral support through partners who are distributing essential supplies and providing vital medical treatment. And with a generous $200,000 match fund pledge everything you give will be doubled - so let’s come together and support this essential relief effort.
Poppy Ajudha epitomises the uniquely diverse musical culture that exists in London. Her South London, St. Lucian-British background, the scene she has grown up in, and the musicians and creatives she regularly works with have all been pivotal in the forward thinking, socio-politically aware unique blend of R&B, Soul and Pop that she creates. Unafraid to stand up for what she believes in, her lyrics speak of feminism, colonialism, gender politics, current social issues and more.
Flo Perlin is a contemporary folk singer-songwriter from London, UK with Iraqi and Belarusian heritage. She has been hailed as a ‘true storyteller’ by BBC Radio 6 with a style that blends contemporary folk, jazz and soul. The songs explore themes such as family history, human nature and being good to yourself. Her unique, emotive voice and lush instrumentation draws you deeper into her lyrics revealing more with every listen.
